You can create projects using templates from a different organization, provided you have a Admin role in both organizations involved—the organization where the template resides (source organization) and the organization where the project will be created (destination organization). There are two ways to achieve this:
Option 1: Create Projects from the Source Organization
Step 1: Go to the Settings > Templates section of the source organization and select the desired template that you wish to use for creating projects.
Step 2: Select the destination organization in which the project will be created.
Step 3: Enter the rest of the details.
Step 4: Upon clicking Save Changes, you will be presented with the option to either redirect to the destination organization or remain in the current organization.
The same process can be applied while creating projects in bulk as well.
Option 2: Import and use the template in the Destination Organization itself
You can select templates from other organizations while creating a project in the target organization itself. Templates can only be selected from those organizations where you hold an Admin
role.
The same can also be done for bulk upload of projects.
Key points to consider while using templates from different organizations:
All members of the template will be added to the newly created project in the destination organization, provided that they are already a part of the destination organization; otherwise, they will not be added.
When bulk uploading projects to another organization, ensure that the members being added to these projects—specifically, the emails listed in the file—are already members of the destination organization.
Remember to ensure that the projects you create do not have the same name or identifier as any existing projects in the destination organization.
