If the Dependency, Efforts or Due date field already exists

Dependency mode allows you to change the due-date of the dependent tasks automatically when the due-date of the actual task is changed.

Dependency mode requires three columns:

  1. Dependency (Text Field)

  2. Efforts (Number field)

  3. Due date (Date field)

To know more about Dependency mode, refer to this help article.

How Dependency mode works?

  1. If you enable Dependency mode for your project, NeetoPlanner checks if Dependency, Efforts or Due date field already exists.

  2. If they don’t exist, they are created automatically.

  3. If they exist, NeetoPlanner checks whether the field types are correct.

  4. If they are not correct, then the error message Effort field is present but is of unsupported type is shown.

  5. Here, the Dependency mode won't be enabled.

  6. To enable it, change the name of the field if you want to continue using the field with the same data type.

  7. This change can be made from the List view.

  8. You can also change the data type of the field to fulfil the criteria.

  9. The field can also be delete because NeetoPlanner creates the above fields automatically once dependency is enabled.

  10. After making one of the three changes, you will be able to enable the Dependency mode.
